Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival and bird UWEC

Upon arrival, you will be picked up by our representative who will brief you on how the trip will go. Depending on the time of arrival, you may start your birding trip at UWEC. This place is a good birding spot around Entebbe. Some of the birds you may spot include pink backed pelican, ostriches, peacocks, created crane, African gray parrot and more.
Later check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Mabamba wetland & transfer to lake Mburo national Park

Have breakfast at your hotel and then pack up and check out. Set off for the mabamba wetland. This another birding spot which host a number of bird species which may include the papyrus gonolek, black egret, black crate and more. For a great birding experience on this swamp, you shall do it on a canoe across the swamp.
After set off for lake Mburo national Park. You will have a stoppover by the Equator for water experiments, photography and lunch as well.
Proceed to the park. At the park entrance you will get to see the elands, zebras and more. On arrival you will do some evening birding.
Later to the lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 3

Birding lake Mburo national Park

After a very early morning breakfast, you shall embark on early morning birding. In the morning, the birds are most active. Some of the birds you will spot will include, African wattled lapwing, papyrus gonolek, red faced barbet and more. In the afternoon have a boat ride on the lake. You will see animals like the crocodiles etc
In the evening shall do another round of birding in the park.

Day 4

Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive. You will get to see the early risers of the animals as well as the birds.
Later embark on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will bird en-route. Have a stoppover for lunch and then proceed. Arrive and check in to your lodge for dinner and night stay.

Day 5

Birding the Ruhija sector.

After breakfast, you will have an entire day birding in the Ruhija sector of Bwindi. You will bird in the Mubwindi swamp. Some of the bird species will include red chested fluff tail, cinnamon-chested bee-eater, African green broadbill, Caruthers cisticola, dwarf honeyguide, African shrike flycatcher, common buzzard, grey throated barbets, African Goshawk, African pygmy kingfishers, black bee-eaters, blue-headed sunbirds, short-tailed warblers, Shelley’s crimson wings, African sooty flycatchers, brown capped weaver birds, handsome francolins, Rwenzori batis, Doherty’s bush shrike, snowy crowned robin chat, ross turacos. Still, within Ruhija, there are lots of African paradise flycatchers, yellow-rumped tinker bird, MacKinnon’s shrike, red-tailed greenbul, Shelley’s greenbul, etc

Day 6

Bird watching in the Buhoma sector

After breakfast, shell embark on bird watching in the Buhoma sector. This will take the entire day. The bird species to spot will include, ameson's Antpecker, Pink-footed Puff back, Waller's Starling, Crested Guinea fowl, Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo, Grey Crowned Crane, etc

Day 7

Depart for Kampala

After breakfast, you shall start on the journey back to Kampala.
